Wouldn't it be nice if we were married...

Remember Devin Dunn, my college friend who just happens to be an outstanding photographer?  He took our engagement pictures on Sunday afternoon!  They turned out beautifully, and I am exceedingly excited to share them with you!

The weather was cheerfully sunny and comfortably warm.  Guided by our artistic photographer, we posed inside the courtyard of Fourth Presbyterian Church on Michigan Avenue and around the lovely corners of Lincoln Park.

Devin did a wonderful job!  These are only a handful of the shots!

Only 275 more days until I get to marry this man!

The Cubbies in Wisconsin

My aunt and uncle graciously treated Josh and I to a baseball game last night!  After a two-hour drive, complete with construction zones and fun conversations, we arrived in Milwaukee with extra time to explore the ballpark!

We had great seats on the second tier of the stadium!

I think that "baseball food" is fantastic.  Polish sausage with sauerkraut, complete with salty waffle fries and a massive Pepsi?  You can't beat it.

The Cubs beat the Brewers with one home run!  Though the game was not incredibly action-packed, the activities between innings (including a sausage race) and the ridiculous amount of foul balls smacked into the stands were enough to keep we fans riveted.  Miller Park is a great stadium!

Thanks again, Uncle Todd and Aunt Pam!  Josh and I enjoyed spending the day with you!

Mega Feast!

My roommates and I are dedicated fans of "The Office."  (Check out the poster which adorns our bedroom door.)

Remember "The Delivery Part 1" episode?  Pam and Kevin eat several meals together per day and decide to culminate this tradition with a "Mega Feast."  In honor of our favorite sitcom, my roommates and I enjoy periodic Mega Feasts throughout the semester!  On Labor Day, we cooked up an amazing Mega Breakfast!

Bacon (lots of bacon), scrambled eggs embellished with fresh green pepper and grated Swiss cheese, chocolate chip, gluten-free pancakes, freshly-ground coffee, and juice from the Ukrainian Village.  We listened to Pandora as we ate on the floor (our furniture situation is... complicated), enjoying a lazy morning free of classes and work.

I am blessed to live with these fun-loving, beautiful girls!

2C and Busyness

As I feared, the semester kickoff has acutely limited my ability to blog.  One entry per week is my new goal!  Between 16 credit hours, 24 work hours at Panera, Gospel Choir, and PCM in the suburbs, I have very little time to "waste" on the computer.   Yet, here I sit.  It is a beautiful, sunny, and 67-degree Saturday in downtown Chicago.  I am enjoying a string of tranquil hours at home before another long shift tonight.  Apartment living is wonderful!

Though my allotted cafeteria meals and busy schedule do not necessitate much cooking, it has been convenient to have my "own" kitchen.

The tree nicely obstructs the view of the concrete.  Our bedroom faces Lot C and the back entrance of Dryer and Jenkins Hall.  People watching is inevitable!

I have to add a shout-out to Chloe, whose blog inspired me to try Nutella.  I cannot overemphasize the deliciousness of this chocolaty, hazelnut spread!

Is it excessive to eat Nutella out of a jar, with a large spoon, in less-than-healthy quantities?  You be the judge.
